Winter Sleigh Rides in New Brunswick

Winter is often a hard time of year to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. We are trying to do more and more in the winter months to get outside as a family and enjoy activities in the cold.

While it is sometimes too cold  to hit the slopes or skate outdoors, a sleigh ride, bundled up under a blanket with a thermos of hot chocolate could the the perfect family outing. We have put together a list of Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides available to book in New Brunswick.

Winter Skating In Greater Moncton

Skating is a huge part of winter for many, but do you like to skate outside, in the fresh air? This series will feature Outdoor Winter Activities for the family. We are kicking it off with Outdoor Skating Venues in Greater Moncton.
I remember as a child and teen spending many hours at outdoor rinks with my family and friends(I practically lived at the local arena as well, for figure skating). I grew up in Quispamsis, NB and always skated on the Kennebecasis River or at the Rothesay Commons.

Now, living in Moncton, and raising my family here, we are learning where all the best spots are around the region for our favourite winter activities. This list of outdoor skating rinks is the start of our Outdoor Winter Activities series. Watch for new activities and roundups of locations coming soon!

Helping In Our Community – Youth Impact Jeunese

There are so many organizations in our community, and some are more well known than others. Today I want to share an organization that helps our homeless and at risk youth in Greater Moncton. Youth Impact Jeunesse Inc. offers support to youth through many services, including housing, education, life skills, social skills, work readiness, counseling, food, clothing and so much more!

Give The Gift Of Pampering with La Spa Salon & Spa #SupportLocalGiftGuide2018

This post is sponsored. All wording and opinions are my own.

La Spa Salon & Spa is a beautiful spot to be pampered, right here in Moncton. From the moment you walk through the door and are greeted, you feel comfortable and relaxed. I felt completely at ease having my hair done last month, and look forward to having a regular visit with Krista as my hairdresser.

Giving Back – Warm Pants For Christmas

Giving Back - Warm Pants For Christmas

Judy Brander has been giving back to the community for years, she uses her coupon savvy, cooking skills and whatever she can to help....and she was at it again this holiday season!

She started a campaign to raise funds to purchase 100 pairs of warm thermal pants for our city's homeless. By donating $20 you could help her provide a pair of pants. Giant Tiger Moncton helped out as well by making a donation to cover the taxes.

How did you come up with the idea to do this?

"Natalie at Full Bellys ( she does the food boxes) was getting stockings together for the men and was saying she wanted warm pants. I thought, we need to somehow raise the money to get the pants. So I started with the song 99 beers on the wall only 99 pants on the wall - asking family & friends to help by donating $20 for a pair of pants."

Yesterday Santa and Mrs.Claus for stopping by today to give out snow pants and stockings to the men at the center and fun filled purses and shoe boxes to the ladies. People helping people is what is is all about. #WeCanFixThis

Giving Back on Everything Unscripted is a feature section for any Maritime community.

Do you or someone you know give back to your community in a unique way? Perhaps you know someone who is doing great things in your area, but very few people know what is being done. I want to hear about what unseen projects are being done, or unique fundraising, or community support efforts are happening around the Maritimes.

Wild Lights at the Magnetic Hill Zoo

Wild Lights at the Magnetic Hill Zoo

*our family received passes in exchange for writing this post. All opinions & experiences remain my own.

Our family have been Magnetic Hill Zoo patrons for years. We have had season passes several years, attended birthday parties and zoo camps and always try to fit in at least one Spring Sunday opening each year. Now, we have a new yearly event to attend. I was looking forward to seeing and experiencing the Wild Lights display, but really had no idea just how well it was done.
