Free Freezer Meal Workshop January 2020
New Year! It’s time for a new homecooked meal strategy (or implementing one I know has worked for us in the past!). One of the ways I like to stay on track with family meals, instead of eating out or making completely unhealthy choices, is by preparing Freezer Meals. By creating a monthly freezer meal workshop, we are not prepping EVERY meal for the month, but we are starting a prepped meal stock in our freezer. We invite you to join in and prep along with us or do it at a later date.
Food Safety During A Power Outage
Inside: Tips and guidelines for how to preserve food during a power outage. How long is food good? What do you keep and what to throw out? and more.
Whether it’s a hurricane, snowstorm, planned outage or a freak accident, we all will experience a power outage from time to time. We are sharing some tips and guidelines today for Food Safety During A Power Outage.
Garlic Marinated Pork Roast or Chops – Freezer Friendly
Prepping freezer meals is such a time saver and in the summer it is life-changing. In the summer months, we tend to get off schedule more with fewer routines in place, and that is when popping into the grocery store or fast-food restaurant happens. If you take a little time once a month, to prep 15-20 freezer meals, you can not only save time but also money!
Most of the freezer meals we prep for the summer are either slow cooker/instant pot friendly or BBQ friendly. This pork recipe is super easy and can be prepared in the Instant Pot / Slow cooker if a roast, or on the BBQ as well, if chops.
Some other freezer meal favourites of ours are:
Chicken & Bacon Chowder – Keto / Low Carb Freezer Meal
Chicken & Bacon Chowder – Keto / Low Carb Freezer Meal
Prepping meals, especially freezer meals, keeps me on track with eating home-cooked meals and meals that fit our lifestyle. No running to the frozen food at the grocery store to pick up a pizza, or grabbing fast food.
This recipe is a slow cooker recipe, it could be done in the instant pot for 15 min if you forgot to take it out of the freezer, but I prefer it in the slow cooker. Stir is well to combine if doing in an instant pot.
In this video, I prepped this recipe for Chicken & Bacon Chowder, as well as an easy taco bake.

In the Kitchen: Hot Pockets & Beefy Quesadillas
Last night on the “In The Kitchen ” Facebook live, I prepped Homemade Hot Pockets and Beefy Quesadillas.
Hot Pockets are a great option for work and school lunches or even packed up for a road trip. You will need a few hours to make and prep these, but over an hour of that time is allowing the dough to rise, giving you time to prep other meals or the fillings for the hot pockets.
