#DiscoverNBBeaches – Point Wolf Beach

One of my favourite spots in Fundy National Park is Point Wolf Beach.

Just before crossing the Point Wolf covered bridge, be sure to stop at the Red Chairs and enjoy the view.

FUN FACT: There are about 60 covered bridges in New Brunswick. This one was built in 1992 and is 29m long.

Day Trips In New Brunswick With Kids

Day Trips In New Brunswick With Kids

For many summers now, we have been doing day trips from our home in Moncton, NB. With two children that are almost 10 years apart in age, we have tried to find adventures that are interesting for both boys. While some day tripping adventures have been the entire family, many have been just myself and the kids, while hubby is working. Keeping this in mind, many of the day trips are doable with one adult and a couple children.

#DiscoverNBBeaches – Tuft’s Point & Long Beach

This beach is such a lovely spot for a relaxing stroll, exploring with the kids, a picnic lunch or just to stop and soak up the fresh sea air.

Discover NB Beaches – Tuft’s Point & Long Beach

The Fundy Trail Pathway extended their car route further along the Fundy coastline to Tuft’s Point (an now, 2018, beyond to Walten Glen Gorge). You enter the park after passing through St. Martin’s NB, and you can read more about the park itself, here in our day tripping feature. The Fundy Trail Parkway is a park that has an entry fee (See rates here)

It’s A Date, Our First Night Out In Ages!

*this date was sponsored by Lotus Vietnamese Restaurant. All opinions and wording are our own.

This past weekend my husband, Doug, and I managed to go out for a date. Other than work related night’s out, I can not remember the last time the two of us actually went out without the children. In the past we have always relied on family to babysit, but our oldest is perfectly capable to babysit now, so we decided it was time to have an evening together, out of the house, and away from the kiddos!

Weekend Wanderings – Jack Frost Children’s Winterfest

This post is sponsored by Jack Frost Children’s Winterfest.*

Our Weekend Wanderings took us to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, in late February. We packed up the car with our family of 4 and were on the road to the Jack Frost Children’s Winterfest. Only a few hours from Moncton, this was the perfect weekend adventure. For this particular adventure, we left Moncton around noon on Friday and arrived back home Sunday at suppertime. Our VIP Package included hotel stay for 2 nights, welcome bag for the kids upon arrival, snacks each night (if you are at the hotel at the time), breakfast with various kids show characters and early access to the sites each day.

Winter Road Trip Check List

Winter Road Trip Check List

We are trying harder each year to enjoy more time outside in the Winter. In Eastern Canada, we tend to get a large accumulation of snow most years. This is great if you are into skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or other snow-related activities. We love things like Sleigh Rides (List of New Brunswick Sleigh Rides), and Outdoor Skating (In Moncton), or later in the season, visiting Maple Sugar Camps.

As I have been planning activities this Winter, checking out festivals (such as the Jack Frost Festival in PEI), looking for activities to do as a family, or seeking venues to visit within a few hours of our home, I got to thinking about what to take with us. Packing the car up for a Winter Road Trip is a little different than what I pack in the warmer Summer months.

In our vehicle, we pack a Road Trip Kit, and now have different seasonal lists of what to pack. You can find these printable lists for Summer or Winter, as shown below.

Wild Lights at the Magnetic Hill Zoo

*our family received passes in exchange for writing this post. All opinions & experiences remain my own.

Our family have been Magnetic Hill Zoo patrons for years. We have had season passes several years, attended birthday parties and zoo camps and always try to fit in at least one Spring Sunday opening each year. Now, we have a new yearly event to attend. I was looking forward to seeing and experiencing the Wild Lights display, but really had no idea just how well it was done.

Day Tripping – Kingsbrae Gardens in St Andrews, NB

Day Tripping – Kingsbrae Gardens in St Andrews, NB

Kingsbrae Gardens in St. Andrews NB is a beautiful place. I have been to St. Andrews many times over my 40 + years and only last summer did I get the opportunity to visit the gardens.

Our family took a day trip from Moncton, with my kids and nephew, and headed to St. Andrews to visit the Huntsman Marine Science Center. On the way, I was looking at the NB Tourism Guide and trying to figure out what else to do when we got there.
