Day Tripping – Kingsbrae Gardens in St Andrews, NB
Kingsbrae Gardens in St. Andrews NB is a beautiful place. I have been to St. Andrews many times over my 40 + years and only last summer did I get the opportunity to visit the gardens.
Our family took a day trip from Moncton, with my kids and nephew, and headed to St. Andrews to visit the Huntsman Marine Science Center. On the way, I was looking at the NB Tourism Guide and trying to figure out what else to do when we got there. The gardens were a place I knew I would enjoy. It would have been the main event had it just been myself traveling. I just didn’t know if the kids would like it. Well, they enjoyed it and would have stayed longer. We were there for just over an hour and did not get to see everything.
This summer, there will be plans to visit again with camera and maybe a sketch book. It is such a welcoming place, both families and individuals would enjoy everything that the gardens have to offer. One day I will get the with camera and sketch book in hand, and just take my time capturing the beauty.
Kingsbrae Gardens has a petting zoo, miniature playhouses for the kids and so many beautifully crafted gardens, you will be in awe. There are fountains, a windmill, ponds and various types and styles of gardens. It really is a great place for all ages to visit.
Here are a few pics from our trip last summer.
Our little guy, who was 2 1/2 at the time, loved the visual map of the gardens and followed along as we explored. He touched many flowers and tasted fruit along the way. I look forward to our next trip where he will be sure to learn even more.
Miniature buildings…need I say more? All the kids enjoyed checking out the buildings and sitting in the mini chairs. They really did have fun that day!
There are animals on location to keep the kiddos interested and entertained. We arrived during the Alpaca walk on the green. There are also goats and ducks to see further inside the garden gates.

We love day trips in our province of New Brunswick, there are so many places to visit and explore. We also ventured to the Huntsman Marine Science Center while in St. Andrews. In Saint John, be sure to visit Irving Nature Park and if you are in the Moncton region, you can visit the Magnetic Hill Zoo and Fort Beausejour in Aulac.
