Closures & Reduced Hours in Greater Moncton

***UPDATE: As of tomorrow many more businesses will be closed due to the recommendations put forward by the government. We will now encourage you to check our list of businesses going above and beyond in Greater Moncton.
March 16 Press Release made the following recommendations:

  • the provincial government focus its efforts on providing critical services, with all employees working from home wherever feasible and redeploying staff to focus on the most critical activities.
  • private sector companies encourage their employees to work from home wherever feasible and focus on critical activities.
  • child-care providers close with the exception of those that provide services to essential service workers such as health-care workers.
  • the following businesses and public spaces be closed effective tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17, until further notice:

o   libraries;

o   museums;

o   theatres;

o   performance spaces;

o   swimming pools, spas, saunas and water parks;

o   recreational sites such as ski resorts, amusement parks, trampoline centres, etc.;

o   cinemas and arcades;

o   training centres and dance, spinning, zumba and yoga centres;

o   arenas;

o   indoor soccer centres;

o   zoos;

o   aquariums;

o   bars et discotheques;

o   restaurants that offer buffets;

o   sugar bush operations open to the public.

Public Health is also asking restaurant owners to limit the number of customers to 50 per cent of the capacity of their dining areas. Take-out orders, deliveries and drive-through services are permitted.

MONCTON

ALL Public Schools in New Brunswick are closed for two weeks starting March 16th, 2020.

Early Childhood Family Resource Centre de Ressources à la Petite Enfance has decided to suspend programming until further notice.

YMCA Moncton – The YMCA Greater Moncton is closing as of 8pm this evening until March 30th. (Health & Fitness + membership based activities) The daycare remains open. More Details

Good Life Fitness Centers Closed

Fit Rocks Climbing Gym Moncton closed until March 30th. 

Marché Moncton Market is closed for Saturday, March 14, will reassess and update.

The Zoo de Magnetic Hill Zoo has cancelled Sunday Winter openings until further notice

Superior Propane Centre and the Crossman Community Centre / Kay Arena are closed on March 14 and March 15 and will reassess early next week.

Lions Community Centre, effective Monday, March 16, all programs are cancelled for two weeks. Any booking inquiries should be directed to the Centre at 506-382-8560.

All UNB in-person classes will be cancelled for the remainder of the academic year as of March 14.

Crandall University classes will be cancelled Monday & Tuesday; courses will resume Wednesday as online classes (Public Statement)

Université de Moncton – Classes will be cancelled for two weeks from Monday March 16, 2020. 

NBCC – Canceled in-person classes for the week of March 16-20. NBCC campus remains open for operations, and all buildings and services will be open to students and employees.

Oulton College – ALL campuses are closed until Friday, March 27th, 2020.

All Eastern College campuses – closed until April 3; remote learning classes will begin Tuesday, March 17

Via Rail has cancelled passenger train service until March 27 on the Ocean line, from Montreal to Halifax.

Moncton Wildcats – Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has suspended play for the rest of the season and all hockey activity until further notice.

The Moncton Muslim Association is suspending Friday prayers until further notice.

The Capitol Theatre is postponing or cancelling its upcoming events. Ticket holders will be notified and further information will be shared once available.

Casino New Brunswick closed (Hotel, Casino, Restaurant, Spa and Concerts). More details

USVA Spa Nordik closing Monday at 5pm until further notice.

RIVERVIEW

Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Centre – All activities canceled until further notice.

Byron Dobson Memorial Arena – All activities canceled until further notice.

Riverview Indoor Skatepark/Youth Centre – All activities canceled until further notice.

Fitness Studio – All activities canceled until further notice.

Riverview Community Hall – All activities canceled until further notice.

DIEPPE

The Dieppe Market is closed for Saturday, March 14, will reassess and update.

Dieppe Aquatic and Sports Centre closed until further notice.

AJL Centre – Olympic Ice Surface is closed until further notice.

AJL Centre – St-Anselme Ice Surface will be closed until further notice.

Centenaire Arena – Ice Surface is closed until further notice.

Rotary Pavilion (Rotary Park) will remain closed until further notice.

Bowlarama Dieppe Closed.

RETAIL Chains are closing and limiting hours as well.
Please check the retailer you plan to visit. Current closures known are: Lululemon, Fossil, some Starbucks locations.

REDUCED HOURS

CF Champlain will be operating at reduced hours starting March 16th. Monday through Saturday they will operate 11am to 7pm and Sundays will be 11am to 5pm. Press Release

Co_Pain Bread Company – (mar. 14) the next 2 weeks we will be closing the bakery at 6pm instead of 7pm (it could be earlier if deemed necessary due to safety concerns).

Les Gourmandes Cheese Delicatessen & Chocolates – diminishing in-store hours to Wednesday-Saturday 12-5, and closed Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. They are still running online and taking orders for delivery for cheese, gift baskets, and edible arrangements.
