Where to Stay in New Brunswick – Séjour Kouchibouguac Resort
This year we have partnered with Séjour Kouchibouguac Resort to sponsor our family adventures in the region.
….
Our Stay at Séjour Kouchibouguac Resort in late March was very relaxing and a wonderful opportunity to spend time with my youngest son, Clayton. Our visit was planned for 2 nights and we ended up staying a third night due to the weather the day we were to head home.
Upon our arrival, we got settled in our charming private cottage nestled in the woods. Being early Spring, it was muddy, so we put on our rubber boots and went for a short walk on the property to see where we were staying. There is a nice playground for kids located at the front of the property, close to the motel units and the other cottages. There is a trail that leaves the property and runs 1.5 km to the visitor center at Kouchibouguac National Park.
We stayed in the Private Nature Cottage, a beautiful newly renovated cottage that sleeps up to 9 people.
Staying in the Private Nature Cottage, we had a private backyard with a covered deck, a bbq, and a firepit. On the first night, we roasted marshmallows and enjoyed listening to the nighttime sounds of animals and watching the clouds moving across the moon.
The second day the rain started just past noontime, while we were cooking our hotdogs for a late lunch. We stayed outside in the rain and enjoyed it for a while. A little rain never hurts when you have a beautiful cottage to dry off and warm up in.
While the weather was not ideal for outdoor fun, we did go for a drive to pick up our new Discovery Pass at Kouchibouguac National Park, right next door! The visitor center was closed for the season, but we took the time to check out some of the displays and go for a little drive to see where some of the trails are for future visits.
Here is a video we recorded at the cottage. Clayton talks about his favourite part of the trip and explains the displays outside the visitor center at Kouchibouguac National Park.
At Séjour Kouchibouguac Resort, you have all the luxuries of home, the warmth of a log cabin, and the tranquility of being in the woods! Although the weather did not cooperate for outdoor adventures, the accommodations were perfect for a relaxing weekend of campfires and quality time. You really feel at home here. We had plenty of space, the decor is modern and inviting, and there is space outside to enjoy, regardless of the weather, with a covered deck.
Clayton and I played board games, dominos, went for walks, had campfires, and watched movies. It was a wonderful way to reconnect and enjoy time together.
We Can’t Wait To Go Back!
We are heading back to Séjour Kouchibouguac Resort this month to check out the Family Adventure Lodge and do some more exploring in the region with our whole family, including Bo, our dog.
