The toilet paper rolls are easy to work with, a safe and fun craft for children of all ages. Younger children may need an adult to do the cutting, but they can paint the tree, and decorate it as well.
Christmas Tree Craft - Toilet Paper Roll
This simple Christmas tree craft is frugal ND easy for he kids to make on their own or with some help. Stickers, sparkles or other embellishments may also be added to the trees
Equipment
- green paint
- paint brush
- glue
- scissors
- toilet paper rolls
- yellow cardstock
Instructions
- Start by painting the toilet paper rolls green. You can paint the inside as well, as you can see it once the trees are cut.
- After the paint dries, cut a spiral from one side of the roll to the other. Making the gap between turns a little smaller as you cut along the roll. This makes the bottom of the tree "thicker" and the top more spindly.
- Cut a star shape out of the yellow paper and glue to the top of the tree.
- Embellish the tree with stickers, rhinestone stickers, or anything else you may wish to add. (we kept ours plain, but they look cute decorated as well.
