These Honey Nut Squares were a quick creation one night, when I was craving a sweet treat. My son loves Cheerios, so we always have some on hand. They are the base for my recipe. You can use Plain, Honey Nut, Multigrain or even another cereal as the base.
There are only 4 Ingredients! No baking required.
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 1/2 Cups Cheerios (I used multi-grain)
- 1/2 Cup Honey
- 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
- 1 Cup Chocolate Chips
- Line a 9 x 9 baking dish with parchment paper (or grease with a bit of shortening). Set aside.
- In a small bowl, combine honey and peanut butter. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir well to combine.
- In a large bowl, mix Cheerios, peanut butter, and honey. Stir until well combined.
- Press into your prepared 9 x 9 dish.
- Melt chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth. Start with 30 seconds and then continue with 20-second intervals until it is soft and velvety to stir. Pour chocolate over the top of the squares.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour to set the squares. Cut and enjoy!
Store these in the fridge for up to a week. Trust me, they won’t last that long. They are so good.
You can omit the chocolate as well; they are still fantastic without it.
