A little vent, sorry, needs to be said

A little vent, PLEASE know who you are talking about before spreading rumors (this is common sense right?)….Those who know me certainly don’t need to read this, but it has to be clarified, and I will be contacting the people I need to, at the retailers, in order to clarify these situations.

I only promote ethical couponing on this page! I DO NOT fill carts with items and brag about using hundreds of coupons at a time. I am NOT an Extreme Couponer, and have never claimed to be. I simply buy what my family will use, and do occasional donations. This page was created to SHARE the deals, so everyone can save, not just me.

If you have taken a class with me, you know I have a limit on the # of items I purchase at one time, on a great deal ( in order to share that deal with others), so I Never clear shelves or fill carts with one item.

It has been brought to my attention that there are cashiers out there talking about “the Moncton Coupon Lady” and the way I coupon….PLEASE be aware, the person you think is me, is certainly NOT me.

This is a registered business, I started it out of love for ethical and reasonable couponing and to help others. I certainly could be making much more money with this venture, but prefer to keep all my business activities, advertising, etc very obvious and I am not hiding anything.

Sorry for the vent, but I have heard one too many stories about “the Moncton Coupon Lady” from concerned fans of the page…Thank you for keeping me posted on the word around town.

Cashiers and Store Managers: If you think you have the Moncton Coupon Lady at your cash, I will gladly give you my business card and id with my name, Ruth Ann Swansburg…. In Fact, I would be more than happy to discuss with retailers the ways they can curb bad couponing habits. I have consulted with a few businesses already, and am available to help, not hinder the coupon process.

I want to be able to continue using coupons and getting great deals, so I would never do ANYTHING that may cause it to be harder for any of us to get great deals.

Thank you for reading, and now, back to the regular happy posts and sharing!

Ruth Ann

  1. I can see how this would be utterly frustrating for you. Couponing should be fun and exciting and even cashiers and managers should be celebrating these deals with us instead of giving dirty looks because we hold up lines… I'm trying my best to save my family money and it is their job to take coupons. I even pass out coupons when I wait in line to others so it's a nice social experience

  2. I am sorry this has happened to you 🙁 I have mentioned your class to a few of my friends who attended and the first thing I tell them is "Ruth Ann says right off the bat, 'I will not teach you how to be an extreme couponer'". I have learned so much from you and I too only buy what my family needs and uses and if I can save a buck or two, I will. You are generous to your

  3. Most retailers are still coping with the new found love of couponing that many of us are going through. It&#39;s tough for them to adjust, and unfortunately, there will always be 1 or 2 people out there bending the rules and ruining it for the rest of us happy couponers. Keep you head high knowing you are an ethical couponer and doing it for your family. <br />It&#39;s usually a great experience

  4. I am so sorry! I love couponing and I love how I can save while buying better products than I did before, but I agree that we all have to be and promote ethical couponing. Good for you for taking a stand and I really hope things turn around for the better!

  5. I love couponing and finding great deals. If I can I buy for my family and try to get a couple of more products for my local food bank. This is how I give back, I also share my finds with friends and family, I love being able to help others and couponing is one way that I can afford to do it. I never clear shelves and try to leave a couple of coupons behind for the next person to find. I love

  6. I started visiting your site on the recommendation of a friend about 2 months ago and i joined your fb page for the specific reason that it wasn&#39;t about extreme couponing. The information you share is very helpful and is a balanced approach to shopping. The most important thing i learned is when to use my coupons just by looking at your weekly match ups list. With today&#39;s grocery

  7. It is so unfortunate, but you must remember that you have no control over some people out there that are doing this for the wrong reasons. I agree and have been couponing for my family for things that we use only. I do not empty shelves nor do I have any intention. It has turned into a hobby that is lots of fun. THANK YOU for all your hard work!!! Just a thought, but if you know who these

  8. Keep up the good work and don&#39;t let people get to you.

  9. I want to thankyou for all your hard work. You certainly have helped myself and lots of families save money. Before you Id find a coupon and use it right away if it was something I needed, now I wait for a good sale and then I use the coupons, making it more savings. You have taught alot of people how to do it the right way.I use to be embarrased to buy a few of each item but now I have learned not

  10. I&#39;ve been asked by cashiers a time or two if i&#39;m &quot;THE coupon lady&quot;, i always reply with a no but she taught me how to coupon and save money. i&#39;ve not heard any bad comments so far in regard to you and quite honestly would probably get pretty defensive if i did. i agree with the no shelf clearing, not copying coupons and not taking whole tear pads…that will cause problems

  11. I don&#39;t know what&#39;s wrong with some people. They would rather just spread rumors and gossip, apparently it is more exciting than the truth! Keep up the great work Ruth Ann, a lot of us have come to rely on you!

  12. What you&#39;re doing has helped me and my hubby to get out of debt. You came into our family and changed the way we do things, and that is something worth mentioning. No matter where you go or what you do someone is going to say something bad about you. Those are the people with the problem! not you! You don&#39;t need to worry because the difference you make in others lives is much greater and

  13. You are doing a great job Ruth Ann and I am proud of you for helping your shoppers and your community. Times are tough, and nothing gets easier. My husband and I are a family of two who live modestly. We are not poor, but having lost my job to downsizing a few months ago, I coupon as much as I can. Every doller counts! A dollar saved is a dollar back in our pockets to go towards something else.
