We recently spent a day at Magic Mountain & the Magnetic Hill Zoo. Here are some highlights and tips for anyone looking to enjoy a day or two of family fun in Moncton, New Brunswick.

If you have the time to enjoy these spaces multiple days, I suggest spending a full day at the SplashZone, a morning or afternoon at the Magnetic Hill Zoo, and an evening in the FunZone, TechZone, and GolfZone

Magic Mountain – SplashZone

Magic Mountain is best known for the SplashZone, which is full of water slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river. If you have never been, it’s a great way to have fun, spend a day, and cool off!

Magic Mountain – FunZone

There’s fun for all ages at the Fun Zone! You will find rides for little ones, like the planes, trains, carousel, and of course, exploring the Tree house play structure.

If you want a thrill, check out the Wave Swinger, Scrambler, Tilt A Whirl or the Big Dipper.

Magic Mountain – TekZone

If arcade and carnival games are your style, the Tek Zone at Magic Mountain has you covered. Purchase credits and swipe your card to play and collect tokens. Then redeem them for fun prizes!

Our tips to help the day go smooth at Magic Mountain:

  • Tickets: Purchase via the website to avoid disappointment, especially if travelling from a distance.
  • Pack for the whole day. Include a full change of clothes if you are doing all the zones and the Zoo the same day.
  • Water, snacks and even your meals…you can pack it all to bring with you (No Glass Containers are allowed on site though), or there are options to buy food on site (canteen, Beaver Tails, and more).
  • In the SplashZone, get seats under the umbrellas if you can. Leaving a towel or shoes on the chairs when you enjoy the SplashZone will reserve the seats for you.
  • Remember the Sunscreen—It is essential and must be applied multiple times throughout the day.
  • It gets really hot most days, so remember to pack any spray sunscreens in coolers or store them in a locker on site. They heat up quickly.
  • Try to go to the SplashZone early in the day and go to the slides first before the lines get too long. The Wave Pool runs in cycles all day and will definitely be a favourite when the lines at the slides get long.
  • Allow yourself and your family time to rest. You have lots to see and do, but you will enjoy it more with regular water breaks, time to decompress and a little break from crowds. There are many places to sit around the grounds of Magic Mountain’s activities.
  • The FunZone, TekZone, and GolfZone are all open later in the evening. They make a fun way to finish your day at Magnetic Hill and Magic Mountain.

Magnetic Hill Zoo

The Magnetic Hill Zoo is a wonderful place for families to visit. The safety and well-being of animals are a top priority. The zoo is dedicated to educating visitors about the habitats of different animal species and promoting conservation efforts. Additionally, the zoo offers opportunities for research and recreation.

The Magnetic Hill Zoo is separated into four unique regions: the Americas, Asia, Africa, and the Discovery Centre. Additionally, the zoo holds special seasonal events throughout the year. During the Fall, there is Boo At The Zoo, while Winter has Wild Lights at the Zoo, and Sunday openings in March, depending on the weather. In June, they provide a family-friendly day of activities called Funzoola, and in August, there is a Customer Appreciation Day. The Magnetic Hill Zoo also offers birthday party packages and summer camps.

So, the next time you want something fun with the family or a date night, why not consider Magic Mountain or the Magnetic Hill Zoo? We promise you will enjoy it and make some lasting memories.
