Chili is one of those comfort foods that many of us turn to for a quick and easy meal. Not only simple, but also frugal, Chili can be a great recipe to put into your meal planning rotation, make ahead and freeze, or prepare for a crowd.
This recipe is the basic chili recipe I use, but you can certainly add more veggies or beans, or spice it up a little more.
Slow Cooker EASY CHILI
- 1lb Ground Beef
- 1 small onion diced
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 can kidney beans
- 1 can corn
- 2 tsp chili powder (more if you like)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika (regular paprika works as well)
- 1-2 tsp sugar (to taste)
- Brown onion and ground beef in a large pot until cooked, approx 8-10 minutes.
- Place meat mixture and all remaining ingredients in the slow cooker for 6-8 hours on low.
Stove Top Easy Chili
- Brown onion and ground beef in a large pot until cooked, approx 8-10 minutes.
- Add all remaining ingredients and let simmer 40 minutes on Medium-Low heat. You can simmer longer, stirring occasionally.
Instant Pot Easy Chili
- On Saute setting, Brown onion and ground beef in a large pot until cooked, approx 8 minutes.
- Add all remaining ingredients and set manual pressure cooking setting to 20 minutes. Allow 10 minutes natural release.
