The Discovery Centre- Halifax, NS

As part of our Halifax weekend getaway in April, we visited the Discovery Centre for the first time in it’s new location. WOW!!

“The Discovery Centre is a not-for-profit registered charitable organization whose mission is to bring STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) to life through fun, interactive learning experiences.” ~ thediscoverycentre.ca

The Discovery Center is located along the waterfront in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It situated next door to the Halifax Seaport Farmer’s Market.

We had been to their previous location, but this is so much bigger and has many more interesting interactive exhibits. I didn’t even come close to photographing it all, but there is a taste of what they offer.

On the third floor there’s a play area with a Farm, Grocery Store, Construction Site, Veterinarian Office and more. Plus a stage and dress up area, and a music room. Don’t miss the Lego tables and bubble room areas on this floor.

The bubble room is a blast. Play, get soapy and wet and keep on going. So much fun!!

The second floor features areas about the human body, transportation and energy.
Did you know that you produce enough gas each day to blow up a balloon?….well, that’s what we learned below!

When we visited the bottom floor had an exhibit all about music. We had so much fun playing with the instruments and display they had set up.

When you enter the Discovery Centre, you will see these colour changing lights. This photo was taken from the 3rd floor looking down.
