Super simple and very tasty Cheesy Mounds!
These Cheesy Mounds melt in your mouth like a shortbread cookie, but the flavour resembles more that of a cheddar cracker. If you are looking for a treat at home or something to take to a potluck, these little beauties are sure to be a crowd pleaser.
I used medium cheddar in mine, but next time I will use old cheddar. They were very cheesy, but I enjoy a sharper cheese in baking. The Cheesy Mounds reminded me of cheesy cracker flavours of goldfish or cheese nips, except they are softer. These are a wonderful savory treat for sure!
Cheesy Mounds
Servings 12 mounds
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Cheddar Cheese shredded
- 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Cup Butter softened
- 1 tsp Ground Mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a medium bowl, using your hands, combine all of the ingredients until well mixed. Roll or scoop the mixture into 1-inch balls. Place at on an ungreased baking sheet about 1 inch apart. I line my pans with parchment, but you don't need to.
- Bake 13-15 minutes or until they are lightly browned.
- Serve warm. Great addition to any meal, in place of a biscuit or slice of bread. Also a great snacking option once cooled (if you have any left!).
I made these today and they were very easy to make and very
tasty!
